his old self and made his return (possibly one night only) to the WWE
in the Royal Rumble match 2002. Val entered at #20 but was eliminated
by Steve Austin after just 3.45. This was however enough to secure a
new contract.

March 24, 2003 - Raw: Val Venis enjoyed a stint as Chief of staff under
the name Chief Morely. He was forced to strip William Regal of his
World Tag Team championship belt as he suffered a severe injury.
The ever opportunistic Val put the gold around his own waist and
teamed up with Regals partner Lance Storm to reign
as World Tag Team Champions.
Their reign lasted only one week. Storm & Venis managed to fend of Kane & RVD on Heat prior to Wrestlemania 19 but came up short against the same pair the following night on Raw in a threeway which also featured the Dudley Boyz.

May 18, 2003 - Judgement Day: Val Venis - back with his old gimmick - competed in the Intercontinental Battle Royal, but was quickly eliminated.
